Forays are organised during the spring and autumn months, a full programme being available to members in March each year. We meet mostly on Saturday mornings plus occasionally on other days of the week. We are a small group of usually between 5 and 12 at any foray and beginners are welcome at all forays. Non-members and guests can be accomodated by prior arrangement only. Dogs on short leads are allowed at most sites and children are welcome under strict supervision by an accompanying adult.
We also attend local biodiversity events, such as Monmouth Show Countryside Area and 'Go Wild' where we promote fungi in general, not just Gwent Fungus Group and have close links to SEWBReC, the area biological records centre along with the biodiversity groups for all areas of greater Gwent; Blaenau-Gwent, Newport, Monmouthshire.Torfaen and part of Caerphilly.
