Cotswold Fungus Group (CFG) organises regular fungus forays throughout the spring and autumn, when we foray a wide range of woodland and grassland sites throughout Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire. The aims of the group are very much Conservation, Education & Fun. CFG forays are currently on Saturdays, morning and/or afternoon with a pub lunch inbetween. Occasional out-of-season forays are run from time to time, including our annual open-air picnic and foray at Westonbirt in January. There is a strong social side to the group, we have a thriving facebook page for advice, ID's and pictures etc, a microscopy club, a free library, and we have a photo competition. CFG also visit France/Wales each autumn for a week-long fungus foray. Children are very welcome if supervised, & dogs are permitted on most sites. Beginners are always genuinely welcomed and encouraged. Full details on the group's activities, foray schedule, contact information, membership fees & application form, information for beginners, and much more can be found on our website at www.cotswoldfungusgroup.com CFG also hold a major foray event for National Fungus Day culminating in a public fungus display at the National Arboretum, Westonbirt. Full details on the group's activities, foray calendar, contact information, membership fees, membership application form, photo gallery and much more is on our website at www.cotswoldfungusgroup.com |
