Fees and subscription rates from 01 January 2025

  • Journal subscriptions must be purchased in addition to membership, at the same time as joining or renewing
  • All members are required to follow the Society's Constitution

Membership fees from 01 January 2025

Full Member £21 for the first year of a new membership, then £38 a year
Postgraduate Member £21 a year
Undergraduate Member £10 a year
Life Membership  (available to members of 25 years standing) £266 one-off fee

Note: the Associate membership category was dissolved at the end of 2023. During 2024, past Associate members received the same benefits as full Members, and can select the 'Member' category when renewing membership for next year.

Low Income Countries

Applicants living in the following countries are eligible for a 25% reduction on the membership fee:

AFGHANISTAN, BURKINA FASO, BURUNDI, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, CHAD, CONGO,  DEM. REP,  ERITREA,  ETHIOPIA, THE GAMBIA, GUINEA-BISSAU, DEM. PEOPLE'S REP. KOREA,  LIBERIA,  MADAGASCAR,  MALAWI,  MALI,  MOZAMBIQUE, NIGER, RWANDA, SIERRA LEONE, SOMALIA, SOUTH SUDAN, SUDAN, SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC, TOGO,  UGANDA, REP. YEMEN. 

Reduced membership fees:

Full Member £15.75 for the first year of a new membership, then £28.50 per year
Postgraduate Member £15.75
Undergraduate Member £7.50
Life Membership (available to members of 25 years standing) £199.50

 

BMS journal subscriptions from 01 January 2025

  • BMS members can purchase electronic and / or print subscriptions to BMS journals at reduced, member-only rates.
  • These annual journal subscriptions must be purchased in addition to membership, either at the point of joining the Society or when renewing a membership.
  • The most cost-effective subscription is electronic access to all three journals. However, members can also subscribe to printed issues of their chosen journal(s), alone or in combination with electronic access.
