Research Focus

Molecular host-parasite interactions with emphasis on R gene-mediated or partial resistance of crops against extracellular fungal pathogens.

Scientific Activities

Henrik Stotz is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the British Society for Plant Pathology.
His research is focussed on molecular & systems biology and genomics to better understand agronomically important pathosystems, including the oilseed rape (Brassica napus) diseases phoma stem canker caused by Leptosphaeria maculans and light leaf spot caused by Pyrenopeziza brassicae.
Current collaborative projects are on "Mechanistic analysis of quantitative disease resistance in Brassica by associative transcriptomics" and on "Sustainable yield of oilseed rape through improved resistance against L. maculans (phoma stem canker)" funded by funded by ERA-CAPS/BBSRC and KTN/BBSRC, respectively.
To date, he has published 30 papers in international peer-refereed journals, 5 reviews/book chapters and 13 reports.
