The Microbiology Society would like to inform you of our upcoming Focused Meeting on Exploring the Microbe–Immune System Interface, which will be taking place 1–2 September 2016 at the elegant Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork, Ireland. The venue is located 6 km (4 miles) from Cork city centre.

The abstract submission deadline of Friday 22 July is fast approaching. We invite you to submit your work as soon as possible to avoid missing out on the opportunity to present your research to your peers. Submissions are welcome for consideration as an oral or poster presentation. For further information on submitting your abstract, tips on preparing for your presentation, or registering your place at the meeting, please visit the event's page. Remember – you can take advantage of early bird registration rates if you register before Sunday 21 August.

The meeting will focus on the interactions between commensal and pathogenic bacteria with the host immune system during infection. Key topics include: host colonisation; host–microbe interaction; immune regulation; and infection and immunity.

This event continues the Society's Irish Division series of bespoke Focused Meetings which feature talks from leading scientists, as well as poster sessions to showcase the latest research. It will provide invaluable networking opportunities for microbiologists at any stage of their career.

We hope to see you in Cork.

Kind regards,

The Conferences and Events Team
