Oct 07th - All Day

Belgrade Serbia - Congress Center Sava & Hotel Crowne Plaza

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is a great honour and pleasure for us to invite you cordially to participate in the 8th Congress
on Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM-8), which will be held in October 6-9, 2017 at The Congress
Centre Sava and Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia. TIMM-8 is the 8th in the series of
TIMM mycological international meetings organized jointly by the European Confederation of
Medical Mycology (ECMM) and the Infectious Diseases Group of the European Organization for
Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC-IDG). TIMM has become an important and essential
meeting in the field of fungal infections, a forum in which researchers and clinicians from all
over the world present the most important advances and research findings in mycology.

TIMM-8 will cover all aspects of mycology with special focus on evidence-based and
personalized approach to medical mycology, as well as diagnostic-therapeutic integrative efforts
in the quest to improve the present knowledge of epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical course and
pathophysiological mechanisms of fungal diseases. It would be the place to present recent
innovations and commercial tools in medical mycology. The TIMM-8 should be particularly
helpful for young scientists to broaden their views and get new ideas – from fundamental
science to the realization of clinical and laboratory practice. The meeting is designed for medical
microbiologists, microbiologists, haematologists, oncologists, transplant physicians, intensivists,
immunologists, dermatologists, paediatricians, pharmacologists, biologists, molecular biologists,
biochemists and all those with interests in medical mycology.

Belgrade has become important conference, cultural and business center in region since it is
centrally located in Europe at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers and thus presents
the hub of all regional activities which allows participants to easily combine their travels with
excellent connections across by car, bus, air or railway. Great value-for-money and low travel
costs without any visa requirement will give possibility for increase of availability of medical
mycology knowledge in Eastern European countries and low income countries all over the
World. The social program will take full advantage of this excellent location by arranging
evening museum visits, musical concert attendance and informal events. All this will create a
deeply personal experience of Serbian culture and our well-known traditional hospitality.

We expect TIMM-8 to be at least as successful as previous TIMM Congresses, which brought
together around 1,000 international delegates from all over the world. Therefore, we would
like to invite you to the TIMM-8 in Belgrade to enjoy with us excellent science in a terrific
environment.

We look forward to greeting you in Serbia.
