The booking form for the year’s
current programme of events organised by the Foray Committee
can be printed from the individual event notices in
this website and should appear in MycologistNews. Later
in the year, events for the following year will be included.
This allows you to book well in advance for events you
particularly wish to attend and to book as soon as the
event is listed on the programme. All events carry a
£10 booking fee per person, payable to British Mycological
Society which should be sent to the Foray Secretary
with the booking form.
At least six weeks before the event (depending on the
conditions imposed by the venue chosen), the organiser
will ask you for the balance of the cost. If you do
not pay the balance then your place will be forfeited.
If you are unable to attend and give good notice, your
deposit may be refunded. Nearer the event and after
full payment, refunds will need to be negotiated with
the organiser, who may be able to find a substitute;
otherwise a refund may not be possible. Participants
should consider travel insurance to cover late cancellation.
Notes about each event will be updated from time to
time in this website, giving information about the event,
the costs if they are known and travel suggestions as
they become available. Thus, this website will be
worth checking for the latest news. Booking can
be delayed until you are happy that you have sufficient
information or else you can contact the organiser for
an update, but beware of fully booked events! In any
case, it helps us plan events if you book as early as
possible for those events that you know you will be
attending.
For example: if you know now that you will be attending
the Autumn Foray then fill in the form and send £10
to the Foray Secretary. Later you may decide that you
would like to attend the Spring Foray in the following
year. You would then complete and send a second booking
form with another £10 to the Foray Secretary.
The Foray Secretary will send your details to the organisers
of the events. If you would like an acknowledgement
of your booking, please indicate on the form (if you
do not have an e-mail address, please enclose a S.A.E.)
Please bear in mind that events, particularly workshops,
have a limited number of places and may become fully
booked quite early.
The form also allows you to indicate your preferences
for accommodation in more detail. The available accommodation
varies with the venue and we would like to try to meet
everyone's individual needs although this may not always
be possible. Additional charges will usually apply for
e.g. single rooms or en suite facilities when they are
available.
