Essential roles of endoribonucleases in multiple aspects of eukaryotic gene expression
Dr. Schneider her research combines bioinformatics, genetic, molecular biology and biochemical approaches in human cells, budding yeast and model pathogenic fungi to understand the underlying mechanisms of essential RNA processing and quality control pathways. These comparative approaches show high promise to identify fungal-specific factors, especially in ribosome biogenesis, which can be explored as targets for the development of new anti-fungal drugs with wide applications in healthcare and agriculture.
